Police were called at 10.30 am today (28th September) following the discovery of a Second World War explosive.

Sections of the A338 and A345 were closed this afternoon due to the nature of the incident.

This evening an ordnance disposal team carried out a controlled explosion.

The team say it wasn't a live device.

Wiltshire Police say the area is now safe and the road closures are being lifted.

The force has also thanked the public for their patience.
