Body found in Salisbury river

The body of a woman's been found in a river in Salisbury.

Wiltshire Police were called out to the River Avon near Waitrose around 4.30pm today (Friday 25th February).

In a statement, they've said:

"Officers attended the scene and confirmed the woman was deceased. Our enquiries are at a very early stage and officers are working to establish the circumstances surrounding the death."

Police have issued a statement this morning (Saturday) saying:

'We now believe there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, however enquiries are ongoing.'
