Bishopdown assault 'really concerning' - Wiltshire Police

They're renewing their appeal for witnesses to an incident on Monday

More details have been revealed by detectives investigating an assault in the Bishopdown area of Salisbury - with the incident described as 'really concerning'.

A woman was approached from behind by a man on the Downs, off Bishopdown Road, just before 3.00pm on Monday (23rd September).

She was threatened and pushed to the ground, before the man left the area towards Bishopdown.

The suspect is described as white, with facial stubble and wearing a grey tracksuit with the hood up.

Detective Inspector Eirin Martin said:

"This is a really concerning incident where a man has targeted a lone woman during daylight hours.

"I'd like to urge anyone who was in the area on Monday and may have seen someone matching the description of the suspect to let us know. Please check your dashcam and doorbell footage and CCTV. If the footage shows a man matching the suspect's description please do let us know.

"We cannot solve these offences alone. We need the community to work with us to help keep the area safe.

"Our officers will continue to be in the area, in both uniform and plain clothes as we investigate what happened."
