After it’s biggest ever event, Wallop Wheels and Wings is already planning next years event – which will be on a special date for the Army Flying Museum.
4000 visitors attended the event at the start of July, which included a flypast of the only airworthy Lancaster (pictured above).
And plans are already underway for next year’s event, which will be held on 6th July, coinciding with the Museum’s 40th anniversary.
Lucy Johnson is the Museum’s CEO and said she was delighted to see so many people at Wallop Wheels and Wings last week.
This is the key event in the museum’s fundraising calendar and it is so important in helping to raise the profile of the museum and the work that we do,” she said.
“It was fantastic to see so many smiling faces and to see such a wonderful variety of cars, bikes and aircraft join us and the fly past by the Lancaster was a very special moment that we will never forget!”
As well as the Lancaster fly-past, there was an appearance by an Apache Helicopter, along with many classic and super car clubs.
The cars on show covered over a century of motoring history and included the Lotus Club, Jaguar Drivers Club and Ferrari Owners Club.
There was time for two further flypasts, with the Navy Wings Swordfish and a dual flypast by the Rolls-Royce Heritage Flight.
