A basketball court in Amesbury, which is often used by young children, has been damaged by an "unknown sticky substance".

Police say it's really hard to clean and the council's maintenance team are spending money and time to fix it, only for it to be repeated again.

There's also, reportedly, broken glass in the same area.

The court on Holders Field is a hot spot when it comes to anti social behaviour, the force says.

So they are going to be stepping up patrols in the area, in order to crack down on these incidents happening.

Police are also appealing for any information residents might have in relation to this activity.

Anyone who might be able to help with criminal damage should call 101 and quote crime reference number 5422005535.
