Around 30 acres of barley has been destroyed in a fire at Redlynch.

Crews were called out to a field off Langford Lane, just before 2.00pm yesterday afternoon (Sunday 1st July).

Dorset & Wiltshire and Rescue say they came from Salisbury, Wilton, Verwood, Cranborne with help from three other crews from Hampshire.

It's believed the blaze started due to a combine harvester sparking off the dry ground.

Firefighters worked to create a break in the crops to stop the fire spreading further.
