Barford Brocante returns for a second year
It's back in Barford St Martin after a successful first year in 2022
After a successful first year, the Barford St Martin Brocante is back for a second year today (Sunday 9th July).
The table top sale around the village helped towards £80,000 of fundraising last year, which paid for a new local playground.
This year, the target is to match that, in order to create a community space within the ancient village, by adding a kitchen and toilet facilities.
It's all been organised by the Barford St Martin Community Fund.
Inspired by tabletop sales in French villages, the Barford Brocante replicates the concept with stalls in the gardens of local people across the village.
It’s the latest in several fundraising events in the village, with visitors coming from afar to attend wildlife walks, a Coronation Lunch, village quizzes at the Barford Inn and a successful Open Gardens Day.
It's free to attend the Brocante, between 10.00am and 1.00pm today.
There's parking at the Barford Inn (SP3 4AB), where you can pick up a map to find your way to the gardens of those residents participating in the tabletop sale.
