People wearing balaclavas have targeted a Melskham home, in an aggravated burglary.

A window was smashed at a property in Semington Road at around 5.00am yesterday morning (Monday 21st April), for three or four people to enter.

The occupants, and friends who were staying over, barricaded themselves in a bedroom.

Extensive damage was caused in the house, with mirrors pulled from the walls and the stairs banisters broken.

It's believed the group made off on foot, in the direction of the town centre afterwards.

There's now an appeal for witnesses, or anyone with dash cam, home CCTV or doorbell footage from between 4.30 and 5.15am, to contact Wiltshire Police.

You can call 101, quoting reference number 54250048144, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
