Wiltshire Police is appealing for witnesses following the suspected arson attack.

The force, along with the fire service, attended a fire at an address on Penning Road at approximately 8.50pm on Friday 14th May.

On arrival the building was already alight.

A teenage boy was arrested on suspicion of arson and burglary and has been released pending further enquiries.

Police want to speak to another suspect - who is believed to be a white male, wearing a dark-coloured top and had dark hair.

Det Con Harriet Copley said:**_** “We can’t stress enough the dangers of deliberately starting a fire._

“We attended along with the fire service who, fortunately, were able to contain the fire.

“This was a senseless and reckless act and while a property may appear disused, it is not an excuse to commit criminal acts without consequence.

“We’d like to speak to anybody in the local community who may have information that could assist us with our ongoing enquiries into this and would like to reassure local residents that steps have been taken to further secure this property.”

Enquiries are ongoing and the property has since been secured and CCTV cameras in place.
