A Salisbury man has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving, released, then re-arrested a day later for the same offence.

The first incident happened on Wilton road at about 11:30pm on Tuesday 23rd March.

Team 5 officers had reason to stop the grey SAAB, which contained four people.

Following further checks the driver was arrested for drug driving and no insurance, a passenger was arrested for being on warrant and later found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine.

Salisbury Police say the nature of these offences requires further investigation before being able to charge.

However, the same officers then saw the same car being driven by the same driver in Park St, Salisbury the following night.

The driver, a local man aged 40, again has failed a drug driving test and is currently travelling back to custody with officers.
