An arrest has been made following a collision on the slip road of the eastbound M4 in Wiltshire.

A single vehicle crash happened at junction 17 for Chippenham and Malmesbury at around 2.50am today (Tuesday 20th May).

No-one was hurt in the collision.

The car involved was being pursued by Avon and Somerset Police officers at the time.

That was in connection with an aggravated burglary investigation in the Gwent police force area in Wales.

A man was arrested at the scene of the crash, on suspicion of aggravated burglary, dangerous driving and possession of firearms.

He remains in custody at this time.

The slip road remains closed while police investigations are being carried out by Gwent officers, including searches of the car and the surrounding area.
