It's been confirmed a male patient has passed away at Salisbury District Hospital, having tested positive for Covid-19.

It takes the total number of deaths there since the pandemic began to 68.

A statement from the Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust reads:

"A man in his nineties died on 20th December 2020.

"Our thoughts and condolences are with the patient's family and loved ones at this difficult time."

This is the second recorded death with a positive Covid result at SDH in just four days.

A man in his 50s, with pre-existing health conditions, died on Wednesday (16th December).
