A Wiltshire MP's welcoming efforts to increase the availability of full fibre broadband in the county.

Andrew Murrison has been visiting an installation site in the Wylye Valley, within his South West Wiltshire constituency.

The supplies are being boosted through a multi-million project, led by local company Wessex Internet.

They've been tasked by the Government to provide faster, more reliable services to more rural areas of the South West.

Dr Murrison has been seeing first hand the company’s innovative ‘soft dig’ approach - using water and air pressure to excavate soil, which Andrew described as 'keyhole surgery for infrastructure.'

The MP said: “It was great to get briefed up on progress in filling gaps left by mainstream broadband rollout. Connecting more isolated properties is central to realising the full potential of rural businesses in our area.”
