Officers from Amesbury's Team 2 response have doing speed checks along Boscombe Road and Boscombe Hill this week.

They spent some time checking drivers with the speed-gun on Thursday (29 April 2021).

In space of just 1 hour three drivers were caught and have been reported for breaking the 30 mph speed limit.

One was driving at 46mph, another at 49 mph and another motorist was clocked at 53 mph.

Officers also gave at least 20 drivers 'words of advice' about the speed they were driving at.

NO EXCUSE FOR SPEEDING

One driver who was caught speeding gave a pretty feeble excuse, telling Police:

"It's a steep hill"

Suitably unimpressed, Police Officers reminded the driver that their vehicle was fitted with brakes!
