A man has been tasered and arrested by Amesbury police following a pursuit through three Wiltshire towns in the early hours of this morning (29th August).
The driver, whose in his 20s and from Laverstock, was arrested on suspicion of five offences, including drink driving.
Police requested the driver to stop on Tidworth Road in Ludgershall around midnight last night, but the driver failed to do so, triggering the pursuit, where he drove dangerously, at excess speed and through red lights.
The chase continued into Tidworth and Bulford, where a police stinger was deployed in Bulford Camp, with the vehicle later coming to a stop on the A303.
The driver attempted to flee the vehicle, before actively resisting arrest and was subsequently tasered.
The man was arrested for dangerous driving, failing to stop for police and driving without insurance.
However, the police’s work wasn’t done yet, as the driver provided a positive breathe test specimen, blowing 89UG, meaning he was further arrested for drink driving.
A search of the vehicle found a small amount of suspected Class A drugs, resulting in the driver being arrested on for a fifth offence.
The vehicle was subsequently seized and the driver, who is currently in custody at Gablecross will appear in court at a later date.
