Reminder about rogue traders in Amesbury

Amesbury Police are issuing a fresh reminder to be aware of rogue traders and unwanted callers as officers continue working tirelessly to protect the local community.]

DEDICATED PCSOs

Over the past year, between dealing with incidents and patrolling, PCSO Douse and PCSO Flippance have spent a considerable amount of time identifying houses in the local community that they believe may benefit from crime prevention awareness.

Both Officers have visited over 250 houses on their patch of Amesbury Town. They have spoken to most of the residents and shared useful information, leaflets and posters to help deal with any unwanted callers and rouge traders.

Wiltshire Police Sgt Lucy Thorne said:

One of the most recent and serious scams has been fake calls and messages from con-artists pretending to be from the NHS, offering coronavirus vaccines in return for money or bank details. Don't be fooled, it's a trap and NHS Covid-19 jabs are free. You must NOT give anyone money or bank details.
