An Amesbury man's been sentenced to six years and eight months in prison for attempting to arrange a sexual encounter with a child.

58 year old Kurt Anderssen was found guilty of three counts of arranging the commission of a child sex offence; encouraging the distribution of indecent images; and two counts of making an indecent image of a child.

Winchester Crown Court heard Anderssen used social media to discuss paying to meet the seven year old daughter of the person he was talking to, for sexual activity.

A date was arranged by Anderssen cancelled it, saying he wasn't sure the arrangement was genuine.

Wiltshire Police arrested him in December 2021 and seized several electronic devices.

Browsing terms for child sexual abuse material and downloaded files with child abuse titles were found.
