Hollingsworth has now been disqualified from driving for 14 months, fined £200 and made to pay a victim surcharge and costs.

It relates to an incident that took place on May 1st 2020.

The man was part of routine vehicle stop in Ford and his car was searched by officers.

They found a Tesco carrier bag containing three bags of cannabis and he was subsequently arrested and taken to Melksham Police Station.

A blood test was then carried out and the result showed that Hollingsworth had cannabis in his system.

PC Jamie Boyland said:

"Driving under the influence of drugs is reckless and poses a big danger to themselves and other road users.

It is one of the main causes of deaths on our roads and I hope the ban imposed will give the driver time to reflect on the poor decisions made.

We are in the middle of a proactive campaign to reduce the number of seriously injured and fatal collisions on our roads and hope this sentence will act as a reminder that this behaviour and endangering other road users will not be tolerated."

If you suspect anyone is driving under the influence, you are being asked to contact police immediately in emergencies on 999, or on 101.
