An Amesbury man's been charged with three counts of burglary and has appeared in court today (Friday 11th November).

45 year old David Clift, from Truckle Road, was arrested on Wednesday (9th November).

That followed reports of a number of non-dwelling burglaries in the Larkhill and Tidworth areas.

Clift has now been charged with three incidents:

  • A break-in at an address on the The Packway in Larkhill on November 5th, in which a charity box was stolen
  • A burglary in Old Sarum between November 2nd and November 6th
  • An incident in Tidworth on November 1st, in which cash and other items were taken

He's been remanded in custody, until his next appearance at Salisbury Crown Court on December 2nd.

A further 11 local burglaries will also be taken into consideration.

Inspector Tina Osborn said:

"Officers from our Neighbourhood Teams and Volume Crime Teams have been working closely to target repeat offenders. Burglary can have a lasting impact and it is crucial that these offences are thoroughly investigated."
