Amesbury based care agency There4U are providing free packed lunches for children this half term.

It comes after MPs voted to reject a campaign to provide free school meals for youngsters from low-income families.

In order to do their bit and help those in need, There4U are asking parents who are struggling to feed their kids, to call up their office.

They will then make a lunch that they can come collect from Solstice Park between 12 and 2.

Managing Director, Jo Broom, explained why they are doing this:

"I manage the company with my daughter Dana, who has three young children, and she was quite upset about the government's decision to not support free lunches for children in need over the half term and we were just talking about what we might be able to do to help and she came up with the idea that we could provide a packed lunch for any children that might need it next week.

I think as time has gone on people are increasingly struggling with the possibility of being unemployed or furlough being extended and money increasingly becoming an issue for people and I think those often hardest hit are those with young families."

The campaign was backed by Manchester United and England forward Marcus Rashford, who has been posting about many businesses who are doing their bit to help out.

He is calling for us to all work together.
