Charity garden centre in Old Sarum to close to the public
Alabaré is making some changes to its garden centre
Salisbury-based charity Alabaré is closing its garden centre in Old Sarum to the public from today.
The charity, which supports rough sleepers, says it will continue to operate as a Development Centre, helping adults with learning disabilities through day activities and vocational training.
During its closure, renovations are made to the space with improvements made for accessibility, training spaces and outdoor facilities.
It's hoped the centre will reopen next Spring.
Gina Hackett, Alabaré’s Head of Service for Learning Disabilities, said: “We’re taking the opportunity over the next few months to refresh and revamp our Old Sarum Development Centre, and feel it’s best to do that internally, and with the needs of our client base at heart.
“The Development Centre is a hugely important part of our work, supporting people with learning disabilities to live a fulfilling life, and we’re keen to ensure that the site is perfectly placed to deliver that. The aim is to reopen to customers at a later date, with a fresh new look and renewed focus.”
