Salisbury charity Alabaré to hold firewalk for homeless people
Could you walk over hot coals to help those on the streets?
Salisbury charity Alabaré is to host a firewalk at their Old Sarum Garden Centre, to raise money for their work with homeless people.
The cause is asking supporters to walk across hot coals, after getting some proper training, in support of others living on the streets.
It'll be held at their centre on The Portway in Old Sarum on Friday 20th October.
Alabaré support 2,000 people each year, and needs to raise £1.6 million for their services every year.
The charity's held similar events elsewhere in Wiltshire before - one participant said:
"My head seems to feel more confident and it’s all thanks to the firewalk! The firewalk has really made me not question myself so much and not be scared of things as fear is just an emotion you can change!”
It's £10 per person to sign up, with a pledge to raise a minimum of £100 for Alabaré.
Sign ups can be completed through the charity's website.
Anyone aged 16 or over can take part, but those aged 16 - 18 need a consent form completed by a parent or carer, and they have to attend with a registered adult.
