A Women's Super League (WSL) Footballer is the newest ambassador for a Wiltshire-based charity.

Maddi Wilde, who plays for London City Lionesses, has joined Alabaré to highlight how the organisation is aiding some of society's most vulnerable people.

The role is voluntary, aiming to inspire others to support the charity and educate people about what they do.

The 22-year-old's addition comes ahead of the WSL season kicking off for the 2025/26 season, with Maddi's team newly promoted to the top division.

The new WSL season starts on Saturday 6th September.

The women's game is continuing to grow in popularity after the England Lionesses' dramatic and historic Euros triumph this summer.

Maddi said: “I’m really pleased to be joining Alabaré as an ambassador and supporting their mission to break the cycle of homelessness. It’s clear that it can happen to anyone, and through no fault of their own. Alabaré does some incredible work with vulnerable and disadvantaged people, and I hope I can help to showcase their efforts, raise more awareness, and support their fundraising.”

CEO of Alabaré, Andrew Lord, said: “It’s wonderful to welcome Maddi to our group of ambassadors, as we aim to broaden our reach and increase awareness about our work.

“Her appointment comes at an important time for women’s football, with Maddi’s London City Lionesses squad joining the top flight, and we wish them every success in the coming season. I hope that with Maddi’s support, we’ll inspire a new generation to support Alabaré’s cause.”
