A new craze is about to hit the streets of Salisbury in the form of a drink that consists of tea, milk and chewy tapioca balls.
CUPP, a Bubble Tea brand, is opening a new store on Silver Street.
On Friday 8th October, the shop will open at 2pm with the first 100 customers getting a free Bubble Tea.
What is Bubble Tea?
Originally bubble tea was a term given to drinks that consisted of tea, milk and chewy tapioca pearls which are shaken together to form a bubbly foam on top of the drink.
These days, bubble tea is given to a wide variety of fruity and milk infused teas that are produced in this way.
The origins of Bubble Tea come from Taiwan in the 1980s and have become increasingly popular across the world. The 'drink that you chew' has become a phenomenon in the UK and our home city Bristol. Drinking through an oversized straw to slurp up your tea and chew tapioca or pop the popping bubbles is a sensation and an experience that everyone should try.
Founder, Lee Peacock, “We’ve seen an incredible response to the opening of our new stores across the country, with customers queuing around the block for a taste of our Bubble Teas. We are excited to be opening in Salisbury which will introduce Bubble Tea to new and existing customers.”
“We can’t wait to open our new store in the beautiful city of Salisbury. The feedback on our social media about the news has been brilliant. We’re really looking forward to offering our teas to new, excited customers.”
Lee launched CUPP in Bristol in 2012 before expanding to other cities in 2019. Setting themselves apart from other Bubble Tea operators, CUPP focus on being a premium Bubble Tea brand with an emphasis on being healthy by using real fruit and quality ingredients.
