66 year-old man dies after fatal collision near Wilton

There's now an appeal for information from Wiltshire Police.

A 66 year old man from Westbury has died after a crash between Wilton and South Newton.

The collision happened shortly before 9pm yesterday (Thursday 8th October) when he was travelling west on the A36 on his motorbike.

It appears the man then lost control of the vehicle he was riding.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for around 8 hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Wiltshire Police say their thoughts are with the man's family and friends at this difficult time.

The force are now hoping someone may have witnessed what happened and can help with their investigations.
