A 14 year old boy has been assaulted while walking along a footpath in Salisbury.

At some point between 7:45am and 7:55am, the victim was walking along the footpath from The Old Castle towards St Mark's School.

He was reportedly approached by an unknown suspect who pushed him to the floor and then held his arms behind his back.

The boy was able to free himself and run away, sustaining minimal injuries.

The suspect is described as white, approximately 5 foot 10 inches tall, skinny build and in his early 20s.

He was wearing a thing, dark green puffer jacket with the hood up, a black balaclava, black, knitted, fingerless gloves and black tracksuit bottoms.

There was a man running in the area with their golden retriever who the force believe may have been in the area just before, and he's being asked to get in touch.

Anyone else who may have witnessed this incident or may have seen a man matching this description in the area should call police on 101 and quote crime reference number 54220015042.
