Last week, Wiltshire Council started a 9 week litter picking programme targeting the A303 and A36.

For the first 7 days, officers started clearing a 5 mile stretch of road on the A303 between Amesbury and Cholderton.

In that time, they collected 132 bags of litter and 17 vehicle tyres.

On their social media pages, the local authority have asked residents to make sure they take their waste home with them.

They added to that saying:

"Let's keep Wiltshire beautiful"
