Over 10,000 people caught speeding in Wiltshire so far in 2025
Police are reminding us speeding isn't just an offence - it can have consequences
The number of people caught speeding in Wiltshire so far this year has surpassed 10,000.
That's according to monthly police figures, with July seeing 976 motorists penalised for being over the limit.
It's the second lowest total of the year, with January's 707 the least. April saw a whopping 2,028 road users caught above the speed limit.
It brings the total for 2025 to 10,345.
It continues a worrying trend, as figures for 2025 are set to smash those of 2024, where 11,078 penalties were issued for speeding.
Officers are reminding us that speeding isn't just an offence, it's a risk to the safety of everyone on the roads, including pedestrians, cyclists and other drivers.
They're urging us to drive safely and to watch our speed.
