Police are appealing for witnesses after the driver of a car died following a collision in Rutland on Friday evening.

The collision occurred just before 5.20pm on The Avenue, Exton, and involved a single vehicle, a black Audi A1.

The driver, a woman in her 60s, was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham after sustaining serious injuries. She sadly passed away yesterday evening.

Officers would like to appeal to anyone who was driving in the area on Friday to get in touch if they witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle beforehand.

Also, if anyone has video recording equipment installed in their vehicle they are asked to check the footage and contact officers if they captured anything that may help with the investigation.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC 4705 Charlotte Wright on 101, quoting incident 467 of 19 November.
