Volunteers at Oakham Enterprise Park vaccination site have said they'll keep doing their job for as long as they need to.

Rutland's Lions Club, a volunteering organisation, have been spending the last few months at the Oakham vaccine clinic.

They've been supporting healthcare staff administering jabs and boosters, at least 4 times a week.

Allan Grey, who's coordinating the organisation's efforts, says things were very busy but it's now died down since boosters were rolled out:

"Initially it was very busy, in fact I think the biggest day we had there was not far shy of 1000 vaccinations – that is starting to tail off now I guess, with boosters at something like 65% in the local community."

He added that the club has only got 17 members, but lots more signed up to help out during the pandemic:

"Since the early days I’ve been growing a database which has now reached about a hundred volunteers. 100 people have given up their time to help at the vaccination centre."
