At 11am, a two minute silence will be observed across the country to mark Remembrance Sunday.

Military Units, Cadets, voluntary organisations and Armed Forces veterans will parade from Oakham Castle along the High Street for the Remembrance Service at All Saints Church.

This year's poppy appeal by the Royal British Legion has emphasised the need to support those who struggling with life after military service.

Adam Lowe, Chair of the Royal British Legion in Rutland, said: "You bump into veterans all across Rutland. There is a comradery here."

The area is supported by donations made to the Royal British Legion and are used to help veterans with things such as "bills and medical expenses".

Other events will be taking place around Peterborough and Stamford.
