An ex-army soldier from Leicester's walking 900 miles from the top of Scotland to the bottom of England, for charity.

Aiming to walk 60 miles per day, Dean Weston has almost finished his mammoth 14-day challenge from John O'Groats to Land's End.

He's hoping his efforts will raise ÂŁ15,000 for Menphys, a charity supporting disabled children in Leicestershire and Rutland.

'It's a bit of a walk, a bit of pain for a few weeks, so if I can contribute to the charity and possibly give those children some much deserved time having fun, and everything else that comes with being involved with Menphys, it's a no-brainer for me.'

Dean added: 'I don't know how I'll feel at the end of it, I'll probably be a bit emotional and thankful to have it done, but it's not about me - it's about those young kids and the charity helping them.'
