A teenager has been found guilty of attempted murder after another boy was found with multiple injuries partially hidden under a bush in the grounds of a school in Holbeach near Spalding.
Lincoln Crown Court heard how the 16-year-olds had been socialising together and drinking heavily last July in the grounds of William Stukeley Church of England Primary School.
Jurors heard the defendant called a friend he had just walked home - and sparked concerns with what he said he was going to the victim.
The police were called and found the victim with cuts to his neck and abdomen, a haemorrhage in the left eye and fractured eye socket inflicted by the defendant using a broken bottle. First aid was given by officer and the paramedics arrived soon after.
The guilty verdict was returned by the jury at Lincoln Crown Court on Monday (20th January).
Judge Simon Hirst confirmed that “The sentence is one of custody. The only issue is length.”
The 16-year-old who can't be named for legal reasons will be sentenced on the 3rd March.
