A charity in Leicestershire's offering young musicians the chance to perform on one of the biggest stages in the region.

Entries have opened for Travers Rising Stars, which is looking for bands, singing groups or solo artists aged between 13 and 30 in Leicestershire, Northamptonshire or Rutland.

They say the prize package is worth over ÂŁ5,000 and includes local recording sessions, and a main stage slow at the Glastonblaby festival.

Kieran Forsey, Trustee of The Travers Foundation and Chairman of Travers Rising Stars, said: "We launched Travers Rising Stars last year to give local musicians a chance to secure a slot at a local festival. We were delighted at the standard of the entries, and it was a tough job reducing the initial 27 entries to the finalists and then to the ultimate very worthy winner Nick Hart."

"This year's auditions will be in the form of an unedited video no longer than ten minutes which the Judging panel will review. The best entries will go forward to a LIVE FINAL in August 2022 on our competition Stage at Glastonblaby 2022. After announcing the winner, they will be invited to perform their winning set on the main festival stage."
