Support available for pregnant Rutland mums who've experienced 'cot death'
200 babies die from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) every year
Losing a baby can be an extremely difficult time for any family, which can also pose an added psychological challenge for mums that are expecting another child.
Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), or 'Cot death', can leave parents particularly muddled, confused and distraught, when a seemingly healthy baby unexpectedly dies, sometimes without an explanation.
Though cases are relatively low, going through that experience can leave a mum anxious should she become pregnant again.
As baby loss awareness week draws to a close, we're also focusing on the support available to those parents that have to face such a rare and tragic possibility of childbirth.

Health Visitor Mandy Johnson, from Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, provides 'Care Of Next Infant' (CONI) training to her colleagues, so staff are well-equipped to support expectant parents that have experienced SIDS before:
"Understandably when a family have encountered a sudden loss of a baby or child, they are quite anxious when they come to have another baby, so the CONI scheme helps to reduce those anxieties.'
'We also provide the use of a movement monitor, which also helps to give some peace of mind.'
