Stay cautious warns Lincolnshire health boss
As lockdown is eased infection rates are expected to rise
We're being warned not to become complacent as lockdown restrictions are eased across Lincolnshire.
Health bosses expect to see infection numbers rise, but hope, due to the vaccination programme, hospital admissions and deaths will remain low.
Assistant Director of Public Health Andy Fox said we need to be careful.
"It's fantastic news that we've managed to get to this stage, but we are still in a pandemic so we need to be cautious.
"The virus is still out there and if we go too fast and too far then we may see numbers increasing again too fast, which would delay further relaxation of restrictions."
Meanwhile, it's thought the easing of restrictions will improve peoples mental health.
Barbara Keogh from Steps 2 Change in Stamford said being able to meet people safely is fantastic.
"That feeling of connectiveness and being part of a community again is really important.
"The fact we can go shopping, a bit of retail therapy, and go to the hairdressers and get ourselves all spruced up can really help."
