A subpostmaster who worked in Stamford has had her name cleared in the wake of the Horizon scandal.

Two former subpostmasters had their convictions quashed by appeal judges today.

Three judges ruled that the convictions of Sheila Coultas, 59, and Victor Ingham, 79, were unsafe at a Court of Appeal hearing in London.

Lord Justice Holroyde, Mr Justice Picken and Mrs Justice Farbey heard that Ms Coultas had worked at a post office in Stamford, Lincolnshire, and Mr Ingham at a post office in Cemaes Bay, Anglesey.

They were the latest in a series of former subpostmasters to have their names cleared by appeal judges in the wake of the Horizon scandal.

It was a miscarriage of justice involving the wrongful civil and criminal prosecutions of a number of sub-postmasters for theft, false accounting and fraud.
