Stamford and Rutland's wedding sector 'left in limbo' ahead of June 21st
Tom Dodson from the Rutland Marquee Company admits his business can't plan ahead right now
There are calls for Government to try and be as clear as possible when it comes to plans to completely lift COVID restrictions across the Country.
We’re due to find out later today if the so-called 'Freedom Day' will happen on the 21st June.
However, some scientists are asking for a delay to help control the spread of variants.
The ongoing uncertainty has left Stamford and Rutland's wedding sector in disarray, with businesses and clients unsure of how to plan ahead.
Tom Dodson and his wife run the Rutland Marquee Company.
He's frustrated at how the wedding sector's been treated through the pandemic:
"We feel like we've been forgotten about a little bit in all of this, and I'm not entirely sure why that is-maybe one day we'll know more.
"We've got lots of very anxious clients, who're in a massive state of limbo with regards to their wedding.
"They don't know if they're going to be able to have 30 people or 120.
"We've seen plenty of tears, but a lot of very understanding clients as well, as we're all in this together.
"Right now, we're considering different marquee sizes all the time, but it all hinges on the Prime Minister's decision about June 21st with regards to what size events we're allowed to do."
