There's hope that people across Stamford and Rutland will still want to travel abroad this year.

It's as the UK is set to relax restrictions for visiting a handful of countries under a new traffic light system.

Emma Bate is the co-owner of Stamford Independent Travel.

She's convinced that the sector will recover if it's given the chance:

"I think people are so eager to go abroad and get away, especially after the last month of the ever-changing UK weather.

"As soon as the restrictions lift, I genuinely believe that the travel industry will pick up.

"People are already booking their summer 2022 holidays, and it's clear that people just want something to look forward to again."

However, Emma fears that one factor could prove to be a sticking point:

"I don't personally agree with the high-costs involved with PCR testing.

"These costs need to be brought right down, as this could end up putting people off travelling if the costs are too high."
