A Stamford man taking part in his 6th London Marathon today, will also run the Chicago Marathon in just 7 days time.

After crossing the finish line in America next weekend, Luke Harrison will earn himself an Abbott World Marathon Majors '6 Star'.

It means Luke will have completed major marathons in Tokyo, Berlin, Boston, New York, Chicago and London - despite only competing in his first London Marathon in 2016.

"I'm not anything special, anyone can run"

Though Luke ran before the COVID-19 pandemic, he said lockdown turned a hobby into a lifestyle - but that he was an "average" runner at school and isn't anything "special" now.

"I don't really plan to stop, I just plan to keep running through the finish line, grab the medal and just run to the nearest pub - and then I'll stop", Luke said, when asked how he'll celebrate finishing his 6th major marathon.

'I'm not anything special, anyone can run. It's not really about the time - it's about pushing yourself, and the adrenaline you get in the process can do wonders for us all, obviously physically but mentally as well.'

'If anyone is concerned about how they look when they're running or are conscious about what people might think, forget about it. People will be in awe that you're taking time out of your day to do something positive and you'll feel that positive love when you finish.'
