A couple visiting every pub in the country have ranked Stamford as the number-one place for a pub crawl in England.

Nottingham couple Dale and Holly, who run the social media page and YouTube channel 'The Great British Pub Crawl', said the town "was absolutely stunning".

In a social media post, they said: "is Stamford the best place we have visited thus far?"

"Yes... I think it is... and if date night vibes, old pubs, friendly people and cobbled streets, mixed in with great architecture and the chance of a 10/10 kebab to top it all off is your kind of thing... then we would urge you to check out Stamford...".

In the past 18 months, Dale and Holly say they visited over 2,000 pubs as part of their mission to go to every single one in England.

After tasting the tipple that Stamford had to offer, they said they can't wait to come back:

'It just felt like a really nice town to be in, and we love old pubs. In Stamford there's an absolute abundance of old pubs and the architecture is just beautiful. The way the buildings have been preserved, the whole place is just stunning.'

Dale added: 'It's hard to pick a favourite, The Tobie Norris was stunning, but Paten & Co. really blew us away. It's a vibrant, thriving cocktail bar with a real eclectic mix of characters in there.'

'We've definitely got plans to return to Stamford as soon as humanly possible, we're hoping to get back over in the next month to get the second part of the town finished off. We know there's still so much to visit and explore.'
