Stamford and Rutland Hospital’s Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) is set to reopen next month.

It had to be temporarily closed because clinical staff had to be redeployed to work in other departments during the height of the coronavirus pandemic.

North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust has confirmed it will be open again on 1 October.

Phil Walmsley, Chief Operating Officer for the Trust, said:

"We want to thank local residents for their patience whilst we have had to enforce this temporary closure of the MIU in Stamford.

"We are now working towards reopening the service which I know will come as welcome news to many."

People with minor illnesses are being told to continue to seek clinical assessment and advice from pharmacies and GPs.

Alternatively, call the NHS 111 line for advice or 999 in an emergency.
