Opposition group fear for Stamford's roads if proposed housing project goes ahead

Larkfleet Homes want to bring 650 new properties to the town

People living across Stamford are being asked for their views on plans to bring up to 650 new properties to the area.

Larkfleet Homes are behind the proposals to revamp the 'Monarch Park' area in the north of the town.

Carys Vaughan lives nearby and is part of a local opposition group:

"We're really concerned about the impact on our roads in terms of traffic and congestion. It's already really busy around here, as these roads are almost feeder roads to the A1.

"It'll bring another 800 or so new cars to the area as well, which will be far too many for our roads to cope with.

"Also, if they're building all these houses, which could potentially bring another six thousand residents here, then there's question marks over where all these people will find jobs?"

Larkfleet Homes are currently running a public consultation on the matter before they submit any formal planning application.
