A woman from Stamford has been left "infuriated" after the Prime Minister was found to be in breach of Covid regulations by the Met Police.

20-year-old Tegan Wotherspoon says she was unable to attend one of her grandma's funerals and prevented from visiting the other when she was dying in hospital:

'My mum's mum... we lost her in COVID and she had a DNR (do not resuscitate) and it was just really sad that I was unable to attend the funeral because she meant a lot to me... she taught me how to ride horses.'

'My dad's mum, we werent actually allowed to go and see her in Peterborough hospital when she was really really unwell. It just was really sad because she was all alone and she was feeling her worst, she would have really really have loved to have her family by her.'

A fair fine for the PM?

Prime Minister Boris Johnson, along with his wife Carrie and Chancellor Rishi Sunak, were among over 50 recipients of fixed penalty notices issued by the Met Police.

They were each made to pay £50 fines for their participation in Covid lockdown rule-breaking parties held at Downing Street.

Ms Wotherspoon said: 'That money to them isn't anything of a concern, whereas we've got people that are going to bed with empty bellies and people that can't afford to heat their homes or put electricity on in their homes. I don't think £50 as a repercussion is enough.'

The Prime Minister said: "I have paid the fine and I once again offer a full apology."

When asked whether he will step down, he replied: "I want to be able to get on and deliver the mandate that I have, but also to tackle the problems that the country must face right now."

Chancellor Rishi Sunak gave a "unreserved apology" but similarly said he would remain in his job.
