Stamford cyclist Ed Lowe has won silver at the Olympics alongside his teammates

At the Olympics Stamford's Ed Lowe celebrated silver in the men's team sprint in Paris.

The 20-year-old's first foray into cycling was at the Fenland Clarion Cycling Club in Peterborough.

Ed was joined by Jack Carlin and Hamish Turnbull on the podium.

Paris 2024 represents Lowe's first Olympics.

The team were beaten by Harrie Lavreysen, Jeffrey Hoogland and Roy van den Berg of the Netherlands, who broke the world record for the second time in an hour to win in 40.949 seconds.

Ed Lowe and his team completed the sprint in 41.814

Before the Olympics Lowe's first elite level World Cup in Canada in 2023 ended with a bronze medal alongside Harry Ledingham-Horn and Hayden Norris.

While earlier this year Lowe took part in two UCI Track World Cup rounds for Great Britain, winning bronze in Adelaide and silver after defeat by the Dutch in Canada.
