Stamford AFC Women's team are reflecting on the Women's World Cup, despite the England's 1-0 defeat to Spain yesterday.

The Stamford team pushed back their game on Sunday to make sure they could watch it together, with Daniels lounge screening the game at the bar.

Stamford AFC Women's Captain, Lauren Bartle, told us the tournament has 'bought families together'.

She added: "We're finally getting to the point where we are having 75,000 people watch the England game, and it's great to be a part of whether that's grassroots level or in the super league.

"It's sending such an inspiring message, to everybody involved in football.

"It's shown the unity we can have as one, as a country, and as individuals to try and come together.

"Older players are wanting to play again, not just for the love of the game, but being a part of something."

Stamford AFC Women's won 5-4 in their match against Asfordby.
