Staff at a store in Bourne have been left shocked and upset after being threatened with a weapon during a robbery.

It was reported just before 9 o clock yesterday morning at the Happy Shopper on Churchill Avenue.

After making threats the man made off with money from the till.

He was seen heading towards West Street.

It's thought he was wearing a black or blue hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms plus a face mask.

Forensics teams have been at the scene.

There's likely to be an increased police presence in the area as enquiries continue.

Detective Constable Carl Christopher said: “This was a really distressing incident for the staff in a local shop who were just going about their business with no expectation that they would be targeted and threated in this way.

“We are conducting a thorough investigation, and would like to appeal to the public for help in identifying the suspect.

Numerous cars drive by on West Street at that time of day, and it’s possible that they have captured the suspect on a dash cam.”
