Snow impacts the Rutland and Stamford area

It's appears to be an improving weather picture after snow descended on parts of the Rutland and Stamford area.

Last night police in Rutland described some roads as treacherous.

This morning the situation is much better although police in the county say there may still be some routes which are slippery.

Last night Rutland police dealt with a number of vehicles getting into difficulty.

Leicestershire & Rutland 4 x 4 Response teams had to help out with a number of issues.

Police in Rutland are promising extra patrols to ensure people are safe and pick up any issues

More southern areas like Peterborough have seen less of an impact.

The forecast for the rest of today suggests drier conditions although it's likely to remain cold for the rest of the week.
