It's feared a child could get hurt outside at a Rutland school because of the number of diverted drivers which has greatly increased traffic going past.

A stretch of the A6003 between Manton and Egleton is currently closed due to the bridge being replaced.

Drivers are taking an alternative route which goes past Brooke Hill academy.

Police patrols have been taking place outside the school after concerns were raised by parents.

The school has also brought in a new drop off procedure for parents and their children to try and reduce any risk involved.

Demolition and rebuilding operations on the railway bridge close to Manton are due to continue until July.
