A number of gardens across Stamford and Rutland are opening to the public this weekend.

It's part of the National Open Garden Scheme, raising millions of pounds for charities across the country.

Fox Cottage, in Ashwell, will open to the public on Sunday (19/05) from 11.30am to 4.30pm.

83 Main Road at Collyweston, Stamford, will be open Sunday (19/05) from 12:30pm- 17:00pm.

The scheme was founded in 1927 with the aim of "opening gardens of quality, character and interest to the public for charity".

Earlier this month it was announced that King Charles III is to continue as Patron of the National Garden Scheme.

Speaking about his role as Patron, His Majesty said:

“For me, as Patron, the wonderful thing about the National Garden Scheme is its unique blend of Britishness – the marriage of nursing and gardens; the exemplary role of volunteers; the cumulative fundraising power of small events; the championing of local community activity and the celebration of what gardens can do for the benefit of us all. So I can only wish you all another happy year of garden visiting.”

All the gardens open can be found on their website.
